Award winning artist Roger Burnett has spent fifty years capturing the people and places of the Caribbean. As a sculptor his working methods have changed little since the time of Michelangelo and as a watercolourist his subjects range from tropical townscapes to the sensuous figures in his series Daughters of the Caribbean Sun. He makes many of his own materials, including distinctive art papers from Dominica's rich natural resources.
The artist began his roving painting lifestyle with a voyage through the French Canals. He first sailed to the Caribbean in the 1970s and thereafter the islands have been his adopted home.
Roger Burnett is the author of five books that record his travels and unique approach to art. His on-line diary is followed by artists and art students in over 75 countries.

Roger Burnett's studio is located alongside the main road that leads from Canefield to Pont Cassè. The entrance is signposted on the left a hundred yards beyond DOWASCO’s conspicuous Antrim filtration plant.
Please telephone, text or email me, preferably the day before your visit, so that I know to put time aside for you.
From our visitor's book:
This was an amazing experience, much more than we anticipated...What a find! The naked soul of the artist and his models passionately revealed...An opportunity to meet with an exceptional painter and sculptor...It is in capturing the female form in all its moods and changes that the artist excells.
